censo judith and i walked up to sector c and back. we had to cross the river because she did not get the keys to the boat to cross the lagoon. she used a stick to find hard sand to stand on and also higher ground. the water was a bit high and passed our knees sometimes. it's tricky because if you step on soft sand, you can be up to your waist in water. we checked for baby tracks and depressions in the sand where babies might have come up, or will soon. we also look for mother tracks and nests that may have been laid last night. we saw a lot of weird tracks that sort of look like turtle tracks, but with lots of foot prints. it was likely that the association made them. we saw a false crawl track and also an empty nest. on the way, we talked about turtles and also a lot of other things. judith has traveled a lot and it was interesting to know about where she's been. she taught kindergarten in korea before and i asked her a lot of questions about that. it started to drizzle on our way back. i got home from censo at 8. chris' room was empty. i miss him so much, i wanted to sleep in his bed.

morning i went back to my room and fell asleep. i woke up at 11 am when my parents called. i missed breakfast and also a bio talk at 10:30 that i wanted to go to. Anibal was going to take Delaney and judith tonight to Puerto Viego to meet up with the i-to-i group. i was so jealous, holly brought the schedule to the house. it's her day off tomorrow too. we're going to take the same taxi out of sixaola so it's cheaper. we all tried chris' mosquito zapper present as we hung out around the kitchen before lunch.

lunch rice and chicken. i just had some rice with juice and gave my chicken to janek. i lost my appetite. i noticed that one of the girls always gets seconds, but she never fully finishes her plate and i think it's so wasteful and rude. when i clean up the table and take plates to the sink, i don't take hers. i pretend to think that she's not done, even though i know she is.

errands i read and waited for joke's dad to call before we could go out. josh came by and went to the soccer field with janek. we went to the bar to pay for the drinks i bought last night because i forgot my wallet the second time i went. we tried to buy ice cream from the shop, but they were out. we found the guys to tell them we're meeting at Maria's for a taxi at 7 am tomorrow. then we went home to pack. i'm so surprised that i could fit everything into my bag! i hung my watershoes and water bottle outside.

kitchen when we were both done, we went to help sandra with dinner. everyone had to eat early because we had a shift and the two girls were going to puerto viejo. sandra kneaded some dough and got us to toll it out. then we sliced it into smaller pieces for her to fry. the boys came home and asdrubal teased me because i wasn't doing a good job rolling. the dough was very sticky. anibal came by and we got flour on him without his notice. sandra fried the dough, made sausages to go with it and that was dinner. anibal and the girls got ready to leave when we left.

hatchery A only has 3 chairs so i asked asdrubal if we could take 2 and bring them back at the end of my shift. i put my arms through the holes and hoisted it on my back. his laughter followed me to the path. the chairs were light and janek carried my stuff. we passed by many people on the way to there. Holly and Bia said i looked like a turtle. the walk to the hatchery felt so long. the beach changed so much since i last walked on it. i couldn't even recognize where we were going. last night's storm had thrown up a lot of debris onto the beach. it started to rain as we walked to the shelter. when it stopped, i moved my chairs outside, but i guess it wasn't far enough because there were still bugs around. i got four bites on my face, two on each cheek. the thermo reader ran out of batteries so we had to take all the temperatures again to get an accurate reading. when we got home, janek and joke showered right away. i decided not to wait and just shower in the morning so i could have more sleep. i charged my ipod and camera in chris' room (he has 4 sockets, while i only have one for the fan). when i got to bed, it was 1 on the morning.
