Querido Chris,
you have made Sandra's feel like home to me. i have so much to thank you for: bringing me meals, pouring me water, collecting my laundry, the mosquito bite present. i will think of you when i do my wordsearches. when you are gone, i will miss your songs drifting through the wall while i take a nap, playing PIT with you and the smell of you smoking. i'm so glad i met you. i hope you get home safely.

thank you for welcoming me to Sandra's. you are such a generous person: sharing your room with me, lending me your ipod charger, walking me to the station after dark. i do plan to go to Ireland within the next two years. i hope we keep in touch and i see you again. i will miss your cheery voice/singing and your wonderful accent.

Querida Ilona,
you are one of the first friends i met in Gandoca. it was wonderful to spend all those patrol and hatchery shifts with you. i'm glad we were able to talk and share many things within those hours. maybe there will be a chance to travel together in the future. please come visit me in Canada, you don't have to wait until you have children!
